Kaia Selene (pictured right, foreground) is a multidisciplinary artist whose mediums include experimental dance and performance. A non-dualistic and improvised approach gives her work an uncommon intensity which deeply engages us. They are "efforts toward de-fragmentation which aim to release the powerful undercurrent of our collective consciousness through allowing the body to become a conduit for the expression of universal energy." Her dances, though all different, draw heavily upon her studies in Butoh (she has trained and performed with a spectrum of teachers including Katsura Kan, Yuko Kawamoto and Diego Pinion) as well as Ballet and Modern, recently incorporating aerial movement into some shows. She's collaborated with myriad musicians; amongst them Vox Vespertinus, Soriah and Azphodel.
